Parents of Children with Disabilities Might Ask Themselves, Where Do We Go From Here?

Where Do We Go From Here was another Jessica-inspired essay. When I saw a friend post that she sent an essay to Newsweek’s My Turn and had it accepted three hours later, I felt certain they would take mine. It didn’t happen that way, so I decided I’d post it on Substack. .

Then something magical happened. I heard from Newsweek this morning.  
You might say WAIT what?

I emailed them back and told them that I had posted on Substack but immediately removed it and the amazing thing is the editor said, “No problem.” We went back and forth with edits and now it’s on the web!
